Sometimes a person runs across a real neat item -- this is a 1924 electrical supply catalog for the Fobes Supply Company that had warehouses in Portland, Oregon San Francisco, California Seattle, Washington Oakland,California

This is Catalog Number 21 printed in 1924 It is hard bound, 621 pages, illustrated with index. this is NOT a repro book -

A fantastic reference source for collectors, restorers, that need or want a ORIGINAL catalog of many many items that now , over 80 years later need access to drawings, stock numbers, descriptions of things such as:
Household appliances, Electric ranges, water heaters, heaters, hair dryers, (quack) Medical machines, home wiring, plugs, sockets, lamps, knob-and-tube wiring. insulators and crossarms, bolts, tools, blow torches, fuses, switches, lamps, floodlights, street lamps, reflectors, fish paper, fans, motors, gauges, bells, telephones, telegraph keys, power pole hardware, wire, conduit, electrical boxes and more





To what I have read Fobes Supply Company had a electrical wholesale warehouse at 558-560 First Avenue South in Seattle, Washington . This is an area near Qwest Field and near the Alaska Way Viaduct. This is in an area of recent earthquake damaged buildings. I am not sure what happened to the company but records of earthquake damages still list this address as "Fobes" Company started in 1902 and had at one time 3 other warehouses .

If you can relate some more history here - please comment -- I would like to know more about the comapany and its history . I read one blog that stated a unique way it was aquired.

Well this week I found a real impressive site ... so impressive that everybody selling merchandise needs to know about it . The site is

I submitted my site www.FiveStarGeneralStore.Com and within 24 hrs the listings and thumbnails they were neatly listed on the Shop Wiki site ... These people have a great idea and they MAKE it work. Never fails to amuse me how some people out there come up with this stuff.

Froogle or Google Base is neat but so dang touchy on the upload or feed files -- Shop Wiki took all the pain out of this hassle. Not that I don't appricate what Google Base / Froogle does --
