This weeks most viewed item is a used valve body removed from a 1994 Chrysler Lebaron 3.0L. First off let me say that (while many rebuilding DO NOT) it is my opinion any major work / rebuild on any auto transmission or transaxles should have a proper disassembly and cleaning AND a shift kit (or rebuilt VB installed)--as I say this in my opinion.

I have worked on many transmissions with a fresh rebuild that shifted very sloppy- gliding shifts - incorrect shift points etc - and removed and cleaned the valve body and installed a NAME BRAND shift kit and they shifted beautiful !!! Think about it a slip/slide shift is just like riding the cluch in a manual -- makes things wear faster / feels wrongs / developes more heats , etc etc etc ..

Seems like some shops like to sell low cost rebuilds and you can save some time in this area - might think of that when you get two bids that have some variance in price --You get what you pay for .

This is a simple valve body to disassembly and clean -- Just work in a very clean area / with clean tools and don't be in a big hurry -- If you are a newcomer to doing this --a digital camera and exploded views are great .

Also on a Ultraglide / A604 / 41TE there are valve body variations so do your home work - This is definitely a valve body that you don't slap into whatever A604 you have. Know what you have and know what fits what -- The A604 is a transaxle with LOTs of revisions and updates

If you want to look at this VB it is at --

It is used and will need to be cleaned -- do yourself a favor by installing a shift kit in it at the same time AND using the correct fluid

ATRA is a excellent supplier of info -- check them out on the booklets and videos
